REVIEW OF COMPANY: Herbalife

Rating Scores= 1: very poor 2: poor 3: ok 4: good 5: very good

****OVERALL RATING of company Herbalife Company: 3 ****

Offers Customers a good value: 3
Service/product is relevant: 4
Compensation plan/ bonuses: 3
The company Values/mission: 4

Now a breakdown of how I came about these ratings- I broke it into 3 criteria:

1. THE COMPANY
2. THE CUSTOMER and
3. WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?

THE COMPANY:
Description of items/product being sold: Health products, weight management, targeted nutrition products.
Mission Statement: “Our Mission is to change people’s lives by providing the best business opportunity in direct selling and the best nutrition and weight-management products in the world.”

Annual Sales: 4.1 billion in 2012

Years in Business: since 1980

Interesting Facts:

THE CUSTOMER:
Does the product solve an everyday problem? Obesity and lack of nutrition is a huge problem…but can be solved with proper diet, not necessarily with a nutrition product.

Is it a good value? Most Reviews of herbalife report the products are good, but unless you are paying below retail, you paid to much.

What price is your customer willing to pay? They don’t have any prices on the website- I know that most of the products you buy are in kits- at a discount if you are a member.

is there a market share available? how big is the market? There is always a market for health product, but it is a harder sell.

is this a Hot item? is it a growing trend? Herbalife has been growing and expanding to other countries for years. poor nutrition is a huge epidemic across the globe..

is there an untouched niche that will allow you easy entry into the market? This is a product you have push and encourage your friends, family and strangers to buy and sign up under you.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Compensation plans: It appears to start around a 20% discount on products at the basic level. You have to Buy the kits, and then find the buyers for the product.

Bonuses: You get to keep the products you dont sell!

Content/knowledge/skills to be gained: You will learn to plan budgets, and prioritize sales.

What do you want out of this?

is there meaning in it for you? Are you passionate about health/fitness and weight management?

What are your expectations? what are you looking to get out of this MLM? can you make the money you think you can? em>

What are your priorities? Family? bills? another job?

What does it take?

Time/energy/money/travel? You have to at least buy the starter kit which costs $65. You can sell that for retail price of $85, but the problem is selling it at the retail price. It is a higher ticket item, and you are fighting with Ebay, amazon and a million other consultants.

Full time or part time?

IS Herbalife FOR YOU?

-you need to be able to talk to friends and neighbors about the products

If This is FOR YOU, wouldn’t you like a HEAD START into the MARKET??????? (The answer is YES!!!!)

IF IT IS NOT FOR YOU- WOULD LIKE LIKE TO LEARN ABOUT SOMETHING THAT IS EASIER AND LESS TIME INTENSIVE? (WITH MUCH LESS UPFRONT COST???? also the answer is YES!!!)

I highly recommend that you take a look at Empower Network, either as a supplement to, or as a replacement to Herbalife. They can help you learn to approach your customers, and build your business. They can open you up to a whole new world of possibilities on the internet, way for you to bring even more residual income into your house. If you are willing to shop online already, then you will be easily able to blog daily as well.

Empower Network Teaches you how to build a business like Herbalife- but- you get 100% of the Commissions from working with them! In Empower network you DONT hassle friends, you don’t put pressure on family and you dont make awkward situations. You simply blog. blog about whatever, and your customers come to you.

3. WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?

THE COMPANY:
Description of items/product being sold: Wick-less candles and candle holders, home fragerances and a few shower type items.
Mission Statement: No mission could be found but they have this stated as their purpose, “The basis for Scentsy’s business philosophy comes from a quote by Albert Einstein – a quote that so inspired Orville Thompson as a young man that he kept it posted on his bedroom wall:
“Try not to become a man of success. Rather, become a man of value. A successful man takes out of life more than he puts in. A man of value will give more than he receives.”

Annual Sales: 178 million in 2010 making it number 64 of all the direct sales companies.

Years in Business: started in 2004

Interesting Facts: The founder Orville Thompson had the entrupeneurial spirit as a young man, starting his own award winning sheep flock at age ten. He sold his horse to pay for the sheep feed.

THE CUSTOMER:
Does the product solve an everyday problem? No

Is it a good value? Most Reviews of products seem to say the prices were a bit High.

What price is your customer willing to pay? Depends on the type of candle, between $5 and $50

is there a market share available? how big is the market? I have seen one or two scentsy products in most of my friends homes, but I don’t know how much of a demand there is.

is this a Hot item? is it a growing trend? Scentsy is growing and very rapidly at that. the need for candles and even more, wickless candles is growing in popularity.

is there an untouched niche that will allow you easy entry into the market? you would have to talk to your neighbors and possibly family to see if they are interested.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Compensation plans: From 20% to 25% of your sales based on volume. it looks like upwards of $30,000 in annual sales will earn you the 25% commission.

Bonuses: Depending on your personal volume, and the amount of consultants signed up under you, you can receive many other percent bonuses.

Content/knowledge/skills to be gained: There are many opportunities for scholarships and fund raising in the community.

What do you want out of this?

is there meaning in it for you? Are you passionate about candles?

What are your expectations? what are you looking to get out of this MLM? can you make the money you think you can? em>

What are your priorities? Family? bills? another job?

What does it take?

Time/energy/money/travel?

Full time or part time? This is set up to be a part time job. I don’t see how you can make enough to do it full time.

IS SCENTSY FOR YOU?

-you need to be able to talk to friends and neighbors about the products

If This is FOR YOU, wouldn’t you like a HEAD START into the MARKET??????? (The answer is YES!!!!)

IF IT IS NOT FOR YOU- WOULD LIKE LIKE TO LEARN ABOUT SOMETHING THAT IS EASIER AND LESS TIME INTENSIVE? (WITH MUCH LESS UPFRONT COST???? also the answer is YES!!!)

I highly recommend that you take a look at Empower Network, either as a supplement to, or as a replacement to SCENTSY. They can help you learn to approach your customers, and build your business. Empower Network Teaches you how to build a business like Melaleuca- but- you get 100% of the Commissions from working with them! In Empower network you DONT hassle friends, you don’t put pressure on family and you dont make awkward situations. You simply blog. blog about whatever, and your customers come to you.

As my family is trying to get healthier and eat better, we have been venturing forth into the scary new world of organic, vegan and “hippie” food- and I have to say- I am really starting to enjoy it!

last week we were sitting in a Thai restaurant eating Fresh Spring rolls (something I would have never touched a year ago) when our friend asked us if we had tried Kale chips yet. We answered No, we hadn’t but that we had been planning on making them this week for the first time. He told us of an amazing addition to this already healthy snack that is quick, easy, and a great replacement for Nacho Cheese dip.

Who doesn’t love cheese dip with their chips? right?! everyone loves it, so you might as well try this super yummy and raw version rather than that over processed junk!

First, you make the kale chips… this is SUPER simple! You shred Kale into small bite size pieces, then toss them with a little bit of olive oil. Sprinkle Salt or your favorite seasoning over top, and throw them in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes or so. (until the are crunchy). Done and yum!

While they are cooking, make the vegan cheese sauce. Blend or crush 3 cups of cashews until they are powdery. (We used our masticating juicer, and it worked great!) Then you add 3 tablespoons of “Nutritional yeast” and a little bit of Tumeric to turn it yellow like cheese. mix together and add a tiny bit of water until it is nacho cheese consistency.

(We also added a Jalepeno and part of a red pepper and blended it until well mixed. the flavor was amazing!)

And then enjoy! We dipped the Kale chips into the “Vegan Cheese” and enjoyed it as a yummy snack.

** this is also a great Dairy free cheese substitution!

Review of Pampered Chef MLM

REVIEW OF COMPANY: Pampered Chef
1: very poor 2: poor 3: ok 4: good 5: very good

OVERALL RATING of company XYZ: 5
Offers Customers a good value: 5
Service/produst is relevant: 5
Compensation plan/ bonuses: 4
The company Values/mission: 4

Now a breakdown of how I came about these ratings- I broke it into 3 criteria:

1. THE COMPANY
2. THE CUSTOMER and
3. WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?

THE COMPANY:
Mission Statement: “We are committed to providing opportunities for individuals to develop their God-given talents and skills to their fullest potential for the benefit of themselves, their families, our customers and the company.

We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of family life by providing quality kitchen products supported by service and information for our Consultants and customers.”

Annual Sales: Just over 1 trillion dollars! Whoa!

Years in Business: Just over 30 years, since 1980

THE CUSTOMER:
Does the product solve an everyday problem? Yes, the whole reason the company was started by the founder Doris Christopher, who “As a home economist, Christopher realized that consumers deserved, but could not easily find, the high-quality kitchen tools that were available to her as a professional. She found many of the products in local stores mediocre and the salespeople unable to provide product information and support.”

Is it a good value? Yes, Pampered Chef is the top quality in all products

What price is your customer willing to pay? The average party pays out $300

is there a market share available? how big is the market? Everyone needs new kitchen equipment. There is also a market for these items.
is this a Hot item? is it a growing trend? Pampered Chef has continued to grow year after year.

is there an untouched niche that will allow you easy entry into the market? you will have to find access into your local market. You need to find a friend or family member who can host a party and invite their friends and co-workers.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Compensation plans: Plans range from 20% to 25% of payback on items you sell depending on the volume of sales you can achieve.

Bonuses: you get special offers, free items and major discounts on products thru out the year as a consultant.

Content/knowledge/skills to be gained: You get special recipes and learn to host parties. You will get online coaching and hints from how to present your dishes, make cheap and healthy dinners and improve your own cooking skills.

What do you want out of this?

is there meaning in it for you? Do you love cooking? are you passionate about having the best equipment?

What are your expectations? How much money are you needing to make? how many parties are you willing to host? How many people do you know that will host parties and invite friends?

What are your priorities? Family? money? time? how can you make this balance with your life?

What does it take?

Time/energy/money/travel? It doesn’t take much money to get started, but this is a very time-intense MLM. You will have to be always planning your next host, making sure they have invited plenty of new people and making sure that they are buying from you.
Full time or part time? According to the Pampered Chef website the “director level” is part time and consultants have made between 1-$50,000 in a year. the higher levels on the pay chart are for consultants who have dedicated their full time to this.

SO far, after reviewing a few MLMs and reading over tons of plans and MLM payment charts and ideas, Pampered Chef is the one I like the very best. This is because of the quality of the product, and the relevance of the need for the product. I can see women actually wanting to attend a cooking party to learn a new recipe. It is not such a hard sell as some of the other MLMs.

If you are interested in Pampered Chef, check out their webpage for more information, but also consider Empower Network as an addition to your networking needs. You can be a great Chef in the kitchen, but if you cant sell your product, or get customers to attend your parties, then you have no business at all.

If you dont think that Pampered Chef is the way for you to go, try Empower Network as a means for generating that additional income you need. It might just give you that extra time and money you need to free up the stressors in your life!

REVIEW OF COMPANY: AMWAY

Rating Scores= 1: very poor 2: poor 3: ok 4: good 5: very good

****OVERALL RATING of company AMWAY: 4 ****

Offers Customers a good value: 4
Service/product is relevant: 5
Compensation plan/ bonuses: 4
The company Values/mission: 4

Now a breakdown of how I came about these ratings- I broke it into 3 criteria:

1. THE COMPANY
2. THE CUSTOMER and
3. WHATS IN IT FOR YOU?

THE COMPANY:
Description of items/product being sold: it is classically thought to have sold only Knives, Amway now sells a variety of products from home care, to health care and beauty items.
Mission Statement: ‘Through the partnering of Distributors, Employees, and the Founding Families, and the support of quality products and service, we offer all people the opportunity to achieve their goals through the Amway Sales and Marketing Plan.’– Not verified as the official mission)

Annual Sales: 2012 was over 11 billion in sales

Years in Business: This was the first MLM ever created, it has been around since 1959-54 years!

Interesting Facts: Amway was the first MLM created, bringing the entrepreneur lifestyle and business skills to the average person. Amway has been the most heavily criticized MLM because it had to break thru social barriers and because of the aggressive and outdated marketing styles.

THE CUSTOMER:
Does the product solve an everyday problem? not really

Is it a good value? Yes- average value

What price is your customer willing to pay? They want to find a good deal on common products. has to be less than grocery store prices.

is there a market share available? how big is the market? Although Amway already dominates the marketplace, there is still room to grow. They have been going and growing for more than 50 years, and more and more people are trying to supplement their income in new, creative ways.

is this a Hot item? is it a growing trend? Amway hit the top ten lists is two separate searches I did. It hit the number one spot for “top network marketing companies” that ranking was based on time in business, alexa rating and google page rank. Amway also came in 7th for MLM popularity rating for the past year, with a 3% growth rate in 2011. Amway has been around for a long time, and continues offering good products for reasonable prices.

is there an untouched niche that will allow you easy entry into the market? you have to be creative when looking into this market. You can probably find a market in your area, but it will require lots of time and planning.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Compensation plans: I couldn’t find a chart or compensation plan anywhere on their website, but on some blogs i found that it seems to be a stair-step type payment plan, with bonuses that get larger with the more money you are bringing in.

Bonuses: Range from 3% to 23% of your total sales, depending on the volume of products you sell.

Content/knowledge/skills to be gained: you will learn to manage a business, control inventory and work with many groups of diverse people.

What do you want out of this?

is there meaning in it for you? Are you passionate about this type of marketing plan? Can you host parties and sell items? are you willing to put time and effort into cold or warm calling?

What are your expectations? what are you looking to get out of this MLM? can you make the money you think you can? what are some realistic numbers that you can expect to get out of this business plan?

What are your priorities? Family? bills? another job? do you have enough time to make the effort to meet new people, plan the parties, and sell the items?

What does it take?

Time/energy/money/travel?
-This is a time-intense MLM. You have to order the product, put the products together, set up the parties, sign people up under you, and continue the cycle to a greater scale as the business grows.
-It takes High energy to grow a successful business.

Full time or part time? This was initially set up to be a part time or full time job. Many people now are part time affiliates using Amway as an additional revenue source.

IS AMWAY FOR YOU?
-you need to have some money to get started
-you have to be able to invite friends, strangers and relatives to parties
-you have to host parties
-you have to be willing to meet with people during the week and on evenings to discuss your business plans

I highly recommend that you take a look at Empower Network, either as a supplement to, or as a replacement to AMWAY.

Empower Network Teaches you how to build a business like Amway but you get 100% of the Commissions! without the time commitment it takes to build a list, talk to people and host parties. In Empower network you DONT hassle friends, you don’t put pressure on family and you dont make awkward situations. You simply blog. blog about whatever, and your customers come to you.

EMPOWER NETWORK has completely changed the way my family does our online business. We love the commission plan-(you can’t beat 100%!!) and the value that you get. I think the best part about Empower is that there is NOT a hard sell product to buy. It is information, and you cant put a price on information. Our business has boomed, and whether or not you want to use Empower as your full time MLM or in addition to it, I highly recommend you check out the videos!
